If you read our “About” page, you already know that our goal is to end the silence on domestic violence and provide safe shelters for all victims. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will become a victim sometime in their life. That is huge. Chances are, you know someone who has experienced violence brought on by a loved one.
Here are some basic facts:
- Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a pattern of power and control by one intimate partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, psychological violence, and emotional abuse.
