“It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.” ~Marcus Aurelius

I am at a place in my life where I am able to slow down and momentarily pause. Every now and then it is important to stop to appreciate and reflect on our life’s journey. We must make a conscious decision to be fully present when facing life-defining moments. Learn to be happy and content now. Don’t rush to set another future goal that will only reward you with future happiness. It is a cycle that is difficult to break, but we should try to live life in short spurts followed by reflective pauses instead of never-ending loops with no respite. By always looking ahead, we forget there is life to be lived right now. Pause for a moment in the present and savor what life has…

Meditate on good things!

According to the words of  the apostle Paul,

“Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things!” (Philippians 4:8).

Don’t let anxious, negative thoughts take over your mind. You cannot control the circumstances, butyou can always control what you think of them!

hugs n’ blessings because Monday is the perfect day to correct last week’s mistakes!

In my life…
I am a part of You,
and in death I am
a part of you also,
and I shall never
be without you my
God

For sunshine shall
I not see, nor the
darkness shall find
me, nor shall the
power of evil overcome
me, without you Lord
being close to me.

And when the rain falls
from the sky, and the
fires of justice from the
heavens, you shall be
with me Lord as my judge
and my redeemer.

Never shall pestilence
or disease find me alone,
for you shall always see
to my well-being, always
staying by my side.

You are the truest answer
to my life, and as I bask
in the radiance of your love
I know in life I will prosper
as you’ll never let me go.

For in life I am a part of you,
and in death, I will be…

WILDLIFE CONSERVATION AWARENESS WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Cheche Winnie's avatarCheche Winnie

Wildlife conservation awareness is not well known within local communities in Kenya despite the country having most of its wildlife living within the community.

Most of the local communities see wildlife as a source of income (having opportunities to sell their merchandise to the tourists) and tourists attraction, very few really have the connection with the wildlife.

human-wildlife conflict.png

Human-wildlife conflict has been a problem in the country and this maybe one of the reasons why those affected by it rarely treasure the wildlife. They see wildlife as a threat to their farms, lives and space. They have faced a lot of negative outcomes as a result of human-wildlife conflicts and thus have negative perception towards wildlife.

Most of the communities living within conservation areas invests in farms which are frequently attacked by the wildlife from time to time. This creates a strive between the farmers and Kenya Wildlife Services. In Kenya…

How to Manage Your Anxiety in an Anxious World

Dr. Eric Perry's avatarDr. Eric Perry’s Blog

Written by Dr. Perry, PhD

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” ~Leo F. Buscaglia

Millions of us are living lives disproportionately full of worry. This excessive worrying outweighs the possible impact that the occurrence of the anxiety-provoking event would have on our lives. We are not able to manage or control the thoughts that flood our minds. We are consumed with worry about family, health, work and everyday life events. While a certain amount of worry is a healthy reaction to life’s stressors, individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) have uncontrollable and excessive anxiety over such events.

According to the National Insitute of Mental Health (NIMH), anxiety disorders affect 18.1 percent of adults in the United States. This is approximately 40 million adults between the ages of 18 to 54. Research suggests that anxiety is the number one mental health issue in Northern America. According to…
