The machinery of works being carried out in the Seville town of Tomares, Spain, has brought to light on 19 Roman amphorae containing 600 kilos of bronze coins of the fourth century: a finding that archaeologists considered unique in Spain and perhaps worldwide.

Hungarian photographer Flora Borsi produced a stunning series of self-portraits “ANIMAEYED”. Each image is original in that girl’s right eye replaces the animal’s eyes. Even more surreal it gives the make-up and props to help the girl to be like the animals themselves. Creativity Flora is already known to the world: her work has been exhibited in the Louvre and the Saatchi Gallery.

When I read this quote the other day, I was able to resonate with it and thought it ideal for this weeks kindness challenge.

I often wondered why did it feel so natural to be sympathetic and kind to those we care about—yet so hard to treat ourselves in the same fashion? Why did it feel uneasy to say no to a family member or a colleague when I wasn’t up for the task? Perhaps I just didn’t feel like doing anything at that moment.  Don’t I have that option?

We’ve been led to believe we’re selfish if we think about ourselves or if we give we’re going to look good to them.

I decided a few years ago to invoke self-compassion and kindness towards myself…

Before I go to sleep
I hear your angels
as they sing to me
a soft spiritual lullaby

Full of such soft melodic
notes in which everyone
is alive with the joy of
