LET’S BE HAPPY

Happy Friday Angels!!!  I hope this message finds you ALL well and enjoying your day thus far.  Are we ready for the weekend?  I know I am and in doing so, I am preparing to be happier than I have been with a little help from my Mindfulness Masterclass at IOA.  Let’s see if the below will work for us ALL should we need it:

  1. Recognize the things that make you unhappy or stressed
  2. Take steps to remove, solve, or change the things that make you unhappy or stressed
  3. Focus your attention on your actions and not on your thoughts when you are not deliberately thinking, so that you allow yourself to relax and be happy
  4. Recognize what you have and be grateful for it
  5. Find and break patterns that cause unhappiness or stress
  6. When you find yourself thinking negative thoughts about yourself, guide your attention elsewhere.
  7. Make time and room for being happy

Let’s try this Exercise together:

Exercise: Stop, take a moment, and decide why you are grateful to have things throughout the day. These things can be anything, but try to aim for at least 8 over the course of a single day. You can use this sentence to express your gratitude:

“I am happy that I have (this) because: ”

For example, “I am happy that I have my job because it provides me with the money I need to live”, “I am happy that I have my phone because it allows me to call my mother and text my best friend”.

You can also apply this to things that might seem bad.

“I am happy that it is raining because it helps plants to grow”

“I am happy I lost my job because it will allow me to change my focus and to find a job that I love “.

Part of gratitude is seeing positives, looking for ways to improve, and deciding why or how something can improve your life. When you figure out why you want something in your life it is very easy to be grateful for it.

My Angels,  this is a process and one that I know we are ALL willing to work on whenever we need it.

ALWAYS with Light & Love!

HAPPY

MINDFULNESS and STRESS

A little something I came across in my class at IOA on Mindfulness to think about… I know I will be considering the following as well:

If you’re stressed about something, stop, consider it, and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. How does it affect me?
  2. Can I fix it? If so, can I do it now?
  3. Will worrying about it solve anything?
  4. Will it affect me tomorrow? The week after? How about 10 minutes from now?
  5. Is my behavior or mental attitude adding to the problem?
  6. Is someone with me adding to the problem?
  7. If it is aproblem with another person, is there some way I could compromise to solve the problem?
  8. Is the problem my fault? If not, who’s fault is it? Does that matter?

These questions will very quickly show you that many of the things we get angry or upset about, like being cut off while driving, don’t actually impact us outside of the moment they happen, yet we allow them to affect our lives for long after they step out of it.

The simple question “Why does it matter” might not redefine your life, but it can redefine how you approach problems, and how long you remain upset about them.

Hmmm…. Interesting Food For Thought Angels!

LOVE AFTER LOVE

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
