As a cancer survivor, I usually find it very difficult to watch movies or shows that focus on cancer. When The Big C popped up on Netflix, though, I recognized the cast and thought, “Okay… let’s give it a try.” Before I knew it, I was completely drawn in—by the story, the characters, and the emotions they all experience. I ended up finishing all four seasons today. It probably took me about three to four days total. This isn’t a show for children due to the adult content, but it is absolutely worth watching. I was truly impressed by the storyline. As a person and/or survivor, it really makes you stop, think, and even rethink a lot.
I have been away trying to refocus after losing my baby boy, Jerry. He was 14 yrs 8 mos. He was the best boy and a big boy being a maincoon. He was so sweet and polite with his siblings when they would step in front of him for water. He is much thinner in the photo due to his medical issues and such.
He is happier now with no more insulin shots and meds. He is free to run again and play in heaven with his brothers and sister.
Our hearts are broken but know it was the right decision at this time for him however hard it was.
The house is way too quiet without you. 😭
We thank you Jerry for coming into our lives and letting us love you for all these years. We will forever love you and miss you more than you will ever know.
Every emotion is feedback from your inner world. Start decoding your feelings, and you’ll start understanding yourself and opening new doors.
As you do so, keep these 3 things in mind:
1) Each emotion is a signal, not a flaw.
The goal isn’t to eliminate difficult feelings but to interpret their message so you can respond with awareness instead of suppression.
2) Avoiding emotions delays their lessons.
Ignoring discomfort doesn’t make it disappear, but it will bury insight. Facing what you feel with curiosity allows transformation where avoidance only extends pain.
3) Self-leadership begins with emotional fluency.
Recognizing what your emotions are trying to communicate builds emotional intelligence. The more fluently you interpret them, the more effectively you can regulate and redirect them toward growth.
Now read it one more time with these insights in mind…
Listen to Your Emotions
ANGER says, “Look into what you’re afraid to lose.”
GUILT says, “You’re not aligned with your values.”
FEAR says, “You’re being challenged to grow.”
SHAME says, “Work on your sense of self-worth.”
ANXIETY says, “Learn to quiet your mind.”
REGRET says, “There’s an opportunity to change course.”
There lies within you a buried fortune; a treasure trove of talents, skills, and abilities just waiting to be unearthed. There are millions of people walking around with talents hidden away from the world. A buried wealth of possibility concealed by fear, worry, and doubt. Individuals shying away from their own greatness. Content in holding themselves back rather than face the possibility of criticism or rejection. Allowing the fear of failure or even success to paralyze them from taking action.
For far too many of us, this is our reality. What talent and ability within you have you kept buried? Why have you kept it hidden? Fear of failure? Fear of success? Anxiety? Shyness? Lack of confidence?
Let us do an honest self-analysis and then commit ourselves to the pursuit of unlocking our hidden wealth! Let us set goals that will force us out of our comfort zones. We don’t have to take giant leaps, but small steps out of our comfort zone is not only needed to help us grow, but that is what will give us the ability to bring our hidden talents and skills back to the surface. By stretching yourselfjust a little bit, you will learn not only about the skills you must cultivate, but you will probably discover that you already possess a lot of the tools needed for success. You will most likely find that you have either underestimated your current talent level or that you have overblown the difficulty and fear associated with a certain task.
Remember, action prompts opportunity. By taking action, you will not only expose yourself to greater opportunities for growth, but you could ignite a series of events that could one day bring you to a place you had no idea was even possible for you.
So let us take time to look within. What talents and skills have you overlooked? What treasures have you kept hidden from the world? Work to dig it up and bring it out, so we may all benefit from its discovery.
What a great article and so inspirational. Always with LIFE, LIGHT, POSITIVITY, STRENGTH, BEING THE WARRIOR WITHIN, GUIDANCE, and LOVE!
