He Who Lives in Harmony With Himself Lives in Harmony With the Universe – Marcus Aurelius

Is there a place you can go within your mind to get away from the stress, the anxiety, and the worry?  A place that invokes both harmony and bliss?  That place, resides in the life happening all around you right now.

Try to set aside 5 minutes each morning just to be still.  Center yourself by simply observing the environment that surrounds you.  Listen to the songs of the birds; the smattering of rain upon the rooftops. Notice the wind as it gently sways the trees and shifts the leaves.  Hear the sounds of cars passing by; the water flowing downstream, the people chatting.

Sit, just as a piece of life and observe, listen, feel.  When we take this time to just be, the outer world comes alive and brings peace to our inner world.

Next time you find yourself in an anxious or worried state, turn your focus outward.  Pause and observe, breathe and get present.  Allow the life that is happening around you to center you.

All life is connected in some way, remember this, and let it bring a peaceful stillness to your turbulent unsettled mind.

As I Began to Love Myself – Self Love Poem by Charlie Chaplin

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering
are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.
Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance,
I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens
at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE”.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time,
and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do
and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in
my own rhythm. Today I call it “SIMPLICITY”.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is “MODESTY”.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT”.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this
connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART”.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems
with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born.Today I know THAT IS “LIFE”!

ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL

I had my last two days volunteering with the Special Olympics on Friday, July 31, 2015 and Saturday, August 1, 2015 as a Production Coordinator in the Digital Strategies Department which was intermingled with media.  I met some very nice individuals (Shareef, Don, Jennifer, Pete, Sunni, Dorothy, Gil and Nancy) who helped make my experience very nice.  They were very helpful when I needed answers re a number of things that I was getting questioned about.

As far as the athletes – they were a joy to watch compete and an even bigger joy to see the photographs coming in that the photographers would capture.  The joy on their faces as they competed and crossed the finish line in their category was priceless.  Seeing these individuals with a smile so big and such an appreciation for life and competition is something most of us take for granted.  Watching each and everyone of these amazing athletes is a total inspiration to love your life, love where you are at this time in your journey and appreciate each and every minute.  They are OUR ANGELS!  Go dance in the rain if you want to, go run that eight miles if you feel up to it, love on your children and furry children all you want and by all means keep the faith and love.  Remember, everyone has something they are going thru, but if we all keep our positivity about us and reach out to one another in the spirit of compassion and just wanting to honestly help and be there, we can all get thru this life together and much happier.

This wraps up my adventures with the Special Olympics which was an honor and privilege to be a part of.  I am more than happy to give my service to such inspirational young men and women.

Until next time – continue to look up, have faith and know we all have our Angels around us.  Close your eyes, breathe in that fresh air and peace and you will feel them.

S.O. PASS

BONDS

Our pets/babies take up a spot in our heart and soul that is undeniable.  Once you see them and let them into your life and heart that’s it, you’re finished.  In that moment, you have created a “bond” that will last forever.  I say this because I had to take my baby Caesar to the vet hospital today for overactive thyroid.  He is such a love that it broke my heart to leave him there.  But, I know in the long run this will help him and make him feel better.

I believe in my heart that pets are our angels and here to love on us unconditionally.  They are always there when you need them and always a lick or headbutt away from giving all the kisses you want and/or need.  They ask for nothing except to be loved in return.  If only they could tell us when they weren’t feeling well – it would be so much easier.

So, God Bless all the furry babies out there and keep them all safe.  I do pray they all find someone to love on them and treat them as they deserve to be treated, with unconditional love, and with lots of smiles which bring us and them happiness.

Please feel free to share my blog if you find it could help or inspire others.
